Getting Started with Sagepost

Sagepost helps you effortlessly manage course Q&A. This guide covers core features to get you started. For more details, explore our other guides. If you need help, submit questions in the app or contact us at support@sagepost.ai. The steps below follow the most common usage order.
Overview
Sagepost streamlines student Q&A. We combine a robust Q&A platform with AI features, allowing instructors to "seed" AI responses with course materials and previous answers. Our goal is to provide students with accurate knowledge quickly.
Create Courses
We recommend creating a new course for each student cohort (e.g., all sections for a new academic year).
- New Users: Add course details during onboarding.
- Existing Users: Click the course name (upper left) to view the course list, then select "Add Course."
Invite Students
- In the left sidebar, click "Invite Students."
- Paste student email addresses.
- Access this via "Course Settings" after clicking the course name (upper left).
- Alternatively, send an invitation link (which can be deactivated to prevent additional link joins)
Manage AI Knowledge Base
Upload course files under "Files."
- Student Visibility: Change file visibility to allow students to view them.
- AI Indexing: Set "AI Indexed?" to "Yes" to include files in AI responses. Files don't need to be public for AI indexing.
Link Courses
Instructors often teach similar material yearly. Create a new course for new cohorts, but link them to seed AI answers with previous course Q&A.
- Go to "Link Courses" in the left sidebar.
- By default, courses are not grouped; answers depend only on files selected for AI indexing in the current course.
- Create a new group by dragging a course to "Add A New Group."
- Add other courses to combine their material.
Note: Only files explicitly marked for AI indexing under "Files" are included, even for linked courses.
Settings
Settings are managed at two levels: course and account (user). Access both by clicking the course name in the upper-left sidebar.
Account Settings include:
- Profile (name, phone, email)
- Security (password, connected accounts, MFA)
Course Settings include:
- Course details
- Members (course owner and students)
- Billing information
Note: Billing is course-level, simplifying management for instructors working across multiple universities.
